Today I created this cheerful banner for a sweet friend on her birthday.
Supplies
The Girls' Paperie scrapbooking paper
{Pink gingham and rosette print}
Coffee filter circles cut with pinking shears
Chipboard banner shapes for base
Vintage lace, linen, and burlap
Vintage french book pages
My Minds Eye brads
Flower shape punch
Vintage pink flower button
Vintage button
Letters from Michael's
Chipboard butterfly -Michael's dollar bin
Glue gun and adhesive
I covered the chipboard banner pieces with the pink gingham print, using mod podge as adhesive...
Created the rosettes from coordinating print, by scoring 2" x 12" paper strips every 1/2 inch, then fold accordion style {it takes two strips per rosette}
You can see a tutorial on rosettes here .

I then cut the lace off a vintage doily {it was stained} and used book print from an old french text book to layer as trim on the top of each banner piece...
I used hot glue to attach both the trim and the rosettes.
I also covered the chipboard letters with the french book print,
layering the coffee filter cutouts under each letter.
After all the main parts were assembled I added embellishments.
Burlap and strips of linen {from the doily} were used instead of ribbon...
vintage buttons, book paper flowers, brads, the chipboard butterfly...
The banner is strung together on a pale pink linen cord,
which was original the drawstring in a pair of linen pants!
Hope you have a lovely day!
xoxo
