Valentine Pinterest Roundup

To get our Valentine creative juices flowing
I have rounded up some Valentine Pinsperation!

Christmas is pretty much the crafters optimal holiday...
with plenty of opportunities to display our talents...
ornaments, cards, tags, wrapping,
holiday decorating, baking, gifts to make and give...

But Valentines Day is a close second
...after all who doesn't like getting a Valentine?

Handmade Cards

Paper stash?

No, I don't have much scrapbook paper...that is until I reorganized my craft goodies. Then it became apparent I have a hoarding issue...more specifically, a scrapbook paper hoarding issue. And, maybe a teensy issue with letter stickers and rub-ons...

Denim Re-do's

I gathered up my denim and old blue jeans and got busy making a few of my favorite projects from my Pinterest board {Upcycled Denim} and Blue Jean Top Ten to do list.

Above, I created two Blue Jean baskets from blue jean legs...I pilfered a few toile scraps from my mother for the lining. I really like how they turned out, although I didn't follow the tutorial to the letter, mainly because it was a little too involved for me as a beginner.

They do stand up nicely, even without the batting I left out. I plan to utilize the baskets to store my markers and pencils within easy reach on my desk.

I also made a bag out of a blue jean mini skirt with a kitchen towel for the lining. I picket up both pieces for 2 dollars at my favorite thrift store, Treasure House, in Beaumont.

I love the colors in the towel, red, blue and yellow...although this picture isn't the best.
The skirt was a junior size and just right for a purse.

I utilized a pair of boys size 12 jeans also...the legs became the baskets above; the waist band the shoulder strap; and a pocket went inside for keys, etc.

Here you can see the lining and inside pocket.

What projects are you completing before school starts?

In my most popular post, Blue Jean Journal, I lamented on what to do with the left over blue jeans with missing pockets. This pile of cut up jeans has been staring at me since then, and I feel guilty about wasting all that good denim.

I finally caved and begin searching for upcycled blue jean and denim projects ...I headed over to Pinterest and created a board, Upcycled Denim and Blue Jean Crafts...etc, where you can see all the great project ideas I found. So, in today's post, I am going to show you my top ten favorite denim Pinterest projects!
