Patriotic Banner: Let's hear it for the red, white, and blue!

I love red, white, and blue!

I am reaching back a ways for these July 4th projects.
My Aunt Jane and I made these 2 summers ago,
on one of our craft days!

This single banner was fun to make,
I used scraps of red, white and blue paper from my
scrap pile, white ribbon gathered for the center;
The "Bless the USA" and American flag
are from a paper crafting kit from Michael's...
I don't recall the brand.

My Aunt Jane created this pennant banner!
I love the colors she chose, reminds me of summer days,
 faded blue jeans and bandannas!
My Minds Eye pennant banner chipboard makes up the base,
rosettes from blue and red paper,
silver glittery chipboard letters with more
of the patriotic accents from Michael's finish the project perfectly!

Looking forward to creating a few more fun
Fourth of July decorations for this summer...
We purchased a new BBQ pit...
I can't wait to grill steaks, make homemade ice cream,
and dance around the yard with sparklers!

XOXO

Book Print and Doily Valentine Banner

I love Dollar Tree, you can find
the most amazing things there to craft with.

Using Dollar Tree doilies and old book print
I created a Love Valentine banner...

I started with the collage paper hearts
{you can find them here}
trimmed with old book print ruffle...but they were too plain,
and rather too much like the original banner
so I added the doilies on top
along with book print chip board letters
and strung them together with netting.

I love the county shabby look and these fit perfectly!

Sweet Valentine Felt Banner

Valentines Day is coming up fast!

I guess my boys will take store bought Valentines to school...
We usually make their Valentines, but...
I am totally stuck on making Valentine Banners...

This sweet valentine banner is made from cream and red felt...
I love the turquoise, cream, and red color scheme.

I simply cut out the pennant shapes with pinking shears,
stitched around the edges with turquoise embroider floss...

I cut the scalloped red felt circles out with my big shot,
and added red gingham and plaid pinking shear circles behind them...

I wanted the letters to be white felt, but since I
do not have an electronic cutter, hand cutting them just wasn't
working out...so I used glitter glue to sparkle up
chipboard letters and hot glued those suckers on!

Thank you for stopping by!

DIY Shabby Chic Valentine Banner

Hello everyone!
The weather is dismal in my neck of the woods...
Searching for something to inspire me
on this cold, rainy day...

I came across a box I had saved to use in some crafty way...
and decided to make a simple DIY banner.

The box was from an electric blanket, and had premade holes in it,
but the back was one piece of nice cardboard.

I cut out the pennant shapes, inked the edges
with white chalk ink, hot glue the fluffy
tissue paper fringe, and cut hearts out of glitter paper...
I strung the hearts together with wire.

My Valentine Roundup

Hello everyone!
Today I am showing off a few of my past
Valentine projects...
You may have seen them in older posts...
I gathered a few for my own favorite roundup!

I made this Valentine box for my mother,
using a chocolate box I had been saving for years!

This is a recycled project,
 using Restoration Hardware catalog pages...
cause they are too expensive to consider a purchase, ha!

These Valentine Hearts were teachers gifts,
the backside was coated in chalkboard paint
so they could be used as message door hangers.

Ahh, the Valentine Pinterest idea of 2013...
Everything paint chip...
although they didn't turn out as planned...
the ink smeared...they were cute and my son liked them.

Easiest banner ever...poke holes in cards,
string together, tie on some cute ribbon...
Voila!

Collage banner...this one was fun
you can see it here.

Another super easy poke holes string together banner...
Find it right here.
I had a good time putting together this sweet card,
I especially like the tissue paper flowers, and although
you can barely see it, the red polka dot
is on top of super old dictionary paper...

And this was a fun project...
see the details here.

Now this project did not go at all as planned...
The outside layer is wax paper, which if I remember
correctly from girl scouts as sticking together when ironed...
That didn't happen, so I hand stitched them!

I really need to invest in a Cricut or Silhouette...
My "L-o-v-e" isn't exactly what I was going for...

I just adore this set of Pink Persimmon stamps.
The little boy and girl are so fun to work with,
like paper dolls...
Plus, Pink Persimmon stamps stamp better than any others!

Well that's it for today!

2013 Blogging Lessons

2013 has been a GREAT year!

I started this blog as a way to share my creations,
and connect with others that like to craft.

As I look back, I can see small gains in improving
my blogging abilities, and thought I might share them.

Valentine Collage Tutorial

I have had creative block for several weeks.
I just couldn't seem to get my creative mojo started.
Christmas projects were left unfinished,
and my craft table was a mess.

So, today I packed all my Christmas craft gear up...
cleaned my desk {a little bit}, and sifted through my stash for
Valentine papers and embellishments...

To get my crafty juices flowing again I decided to make
Valentine themed collage papers...and no pressure to get it just right.
